We generally think of an air freshener as a product designed to mask or remove unpleasant room odors. These products typically deliver fragrance and other odor counteractants that are all too often synthetic and therefore irritating and harmful.
Synthetic fragrances are strong and long-lasting. They are a blend of various chemical compounds, many of which are common allergens or linked to hormonal disruption. Synthetic fragrances are much cheaper than natural fragrances, and thus more commonly used. We use only natural fragrances.
Essential oils don’t only add aroma to a room; they also provide numerous health benefits for the household. These benefits vary depending on the oils used.
Three essential oils have been chosen for this mist for their antiviral, antimicrobial, and mood uplifting properties. When combined, the immune-strengthening effect is enhanced. These are not oils you'll commonly find used together and their resulting effect and scent are enchanting. By diffusing these oils into the air, airborne germs are warded off before one becomes ill. The emotional influence these oils have is also an added benefit in augmenting the immune system's function.
• Sweet Orange Essential Oil is well known for its ability to detoxify the body, reduce thick saliva and boost lung health. It naturally enhances immunity. The scent is cheerful and uplifting, relaxing and calming, and has proven to slow pulse rate. It creates a warm environment, stimulates the resilience of the immune system and eliminates airborne bacteria. These are important functions today more than ever before.
• Osmanthus Absolute: The plant has antioxidant properties and is used to relieve coughs and reduce aging. The oil has astringent, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties that can help topical skin ailments. Emotionally and energetically, it is cleansing and uplifting.
• Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil: Research done in 2015 suggests two varieties of Cinnamon have the potential to combat viruses. The evidence shows that cinnamon helps eradicate viruses by damaging their structure. Results were observed within 24 hours. The research looked into viruses responsible for colds, flu, and herpes. The antibacterial activity of Cinnamon is due to bio-active phytochemicals such as cinnamaldehyde and eugenol. In addition, Cinnamon can be used as an alternative to synthetic antibiotics, especially for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.

Note
50 million people in the United States suffer from allergic diseases, including 26 million Americans diagnosed with asthma. Many asthmatics report their attacks are triggered by fragrance. The Institute of Medicine placed synthetic fragrances in the same category as second-hand smoke in triggering asthma in adults and children. It turns out that air “fresheners” do not freshen the air. They only mask one odor with another while diminishing one’s sense of smell with a nerve-deadening agent.
Perfumes, colognes, and many other scented products contain an abundance of harmful chemicals, many of which are listed on the EPA's Hazardous Waste List. Synthetic fragrances are not regulated by any government agency or disclosed to the FDA. Hence, the same chemicals that must be disclosed and tested when used in gasoline and cigarettes go unregulated when placed into a shampoo bottle.
